Adelaide Hills Portrait Photographer - The Menzels

With school going back I feel I can return to the world from our school holidays bubble and share a fabulous session held in the Adelaide Hills.

A few weeks ago I had a fantastic afternoon with the Menzel Family. I always feel a wave of different emotions from initial excitement, to extreme nerves, to very humbled then back to excitement when friends book in for family photos.

Before the session we worked out what everybody was going to wear, these are Cass’s thoughts on the process.  “Trust Briony and follow her suggestions with what to wear. She has an eye for putting colours together and making them look good”

I think Cass did a great job putting all of their clothing together for their session. They all enjoy their sport especially the boys who are 6 and almost 8 enjoying playing basketball and footy for local sporting clubs.

They also love going to the footy and cheering on their beloved Port Power play at Adelaide Oval so we decided on a more casual look because it represents them the best.

We met in a quiet little spot in the Adelaide Hills surrounded by greenery and room for the kids to burn off some energy.  I loved shooting in this area because there was a magical little stream, which we all jumped in and explored. I’m happy to report out of the 10 gumboots, only 1 filled with water and nobody fell in!!

We had a really lovely afternoon and later that night after we were all settled back home I got a message saying how much they all enjoyed it which is music to my ears.

If you are considering a family session Cass has kindly passed on her thoughts and advice.

“Just be yourself and no matter how uncomfortable you may feel, trust that Briony will capture your family in their truest essence (I loved our photos, am I being too corny?). I was worried that the kids wouldn’t behave, that I would look silly and we wouldn’t get any good photos but I had absolutely nothing to worry about”.

Now onto the photos from the Menzel family session!!
